I'm going to tempt fate with this post in the interests of timely news. Touch wood etc, Jenai will be back in SF and working within a few weeks. She signed up today to join URS in Oakland, which she's thrilled about. We've met a few of the guys in the office who seem like a heap of fun. So let's all think nice thoughts about visa processing bureaucrats to make sure that it all falls into place.
In the meantime, I've been showing our first guests around the city. First Dave and Dan and then my parents. They both managed to fit quite a bit in 3 days each. As well as photo ops at the Golden Gate and Alcatraz, I think they both experienced a little of the local life here, checking out the various neighbourhoods, back streets and parks.

I'm also trying to be a little reflective in my time here temporarily living alone in a new city. Back at home I think sometimes it can feel like you don't know where the time goes, or what direction you're going. So hopefully this experience will help reset that compass. I haven't really got the answers yet but I'm happy to have the chance to ask the questions.
OK enough with the school girl diary entry. Back to your regular programming . . . . .
